Strategic Visioning – The 4 steps to Success!

One of the key services we offer to small businesses is ‘Strategic Visioning’ – but what is it exactly, and how does it work?

The inspiration for this approach came when we looked at the daily challenges many owners of small businesses face. Often, they can find themselves ‘losing the love’ for their business as they become bogged down in the detail of running it – consequently losing sight of the reason they set it up in the first place! Our support helps them to ‘get the love back’ and follows a 4-step process:

Step 1 – The initial Brainstorm

Brainstorming – some of the traditional methods are still the best and most effective!

Running your own business can seem like a lonely journey but this doesn’t need to be the case.  We sit down with a business owner and engage in an interactive ‘Visioning Session’. This is a complete brainstorming session with sticky notes, flipchart & whiteboard and allows them to empty all those thoughts, concerns and worries whether they are creative, random or just obscure, whilst we categorise all these ideas and feelings into relevant areas of specialism. This session typically lasts between 1-2hrs and coffee and cake are always on hand to make the process flow more smoothly!

Step 2 – Plan of Action

Formulating the plan – a comprehensive roadmap

Once the session is complete, we take all the notes and compile a comprehensive roadmap which will include suggestions for practical help both from us and possible referral partners that could support tasks outside our speciality. Our aim here is to lighten the load and offer hard and fast solutions to those challenges.

Step 3 – Strategy

Short, medium and long term objectives – the marketing plan supports them all

Once you have reviewed the initial roadmap, we then dig a bit deeper and create a strategy, identifying short-, medium- and long-term objectives and the steps necessary to achieve these along with achievement milestones along the way.  If processes need to be put in place, then we will help with this, and if you are struggling with your Sales and Marketing, then we can manage this for you, agreeing on a focus, providing a content plan and managing your social media and website.

Step 4 – Practical Support

Practical support, your 2nd pair of hands – supporting you through the journey

We don’t work as a remote consultancy so once the plans are agreed and put into action, we hold your hand throughout the journey whether it is ongoing or fixed, making sure all parties are accountable to each other through regular review meetings.  We work very much as part of your team, supporting your business as if it were our own and you can rest assured that we will be on hand to answer any queries in a personal, friendly and informative way – whatever they may be.
